Gutter cleaning removes leaves, silt, grit and nests from the gutters and checks that the downpipes run clear. Do it at least once a year, and before winter, because blocked gutters overflow behind the fascia and into the roof.

What happens when gutters block

- Check the joints, outlets and fascia for leaks and rot.
- Send you photos and a plain note of anything that needs repair.

Gutters and the roof together
We are already on a ladder next to the roof, so we look at it. If we see cracked tiles, ridge pointing opening up or rust in a valley, we tell you and quote the repair separately. Our maintenance guide suggests a yearly gutter clean and a roof check before winter.
Gutter guards
Mesh guards cut down leaf build-up but do not remove the need to check. Fine debris sits on top, and in bushfire-prone areas the guard type matters. Ask us at the quote if you want guards fitted, and we will tell you if they suit your gutters.
When cleaning will not fix it
If the gutter leaks at the joints, sags or has rusted through, cleaning will show you the damage. It will not repair it. See gutter repairs and replacement.
