What to do in the first hour
- Stay inside and off the roof. Wet tiles are slippery and loose ones fall.
- Contain the water. Put buckets under drips, move furniture and electrical items, and lift rugs.
- Photograph everything. Take pictures of the ceiling, the walls and any damage you can see from the ground.

- Tell your insurer. Most policies ask you to take reasonable steps to stop further damage, and to keep receipts.

Storm damage repairs
Wind and hail damage a roof in a few predictable ways. We fix:
- Tiles that have blown off, cracked or slipped.
- Ridge and hip caps that have lifted or fallen.
- Flashings pulled or torn at walls, vents and valleys.
- Gutters and downpipes bent or torn from their brackets.

If we cannot complete the repair on the first visit, we secure what we can. That may mean securing tiles and caps or covering an exposed area. We then schedule the permanent repair, and we send photos at both stages.
