Gutter repair seals or replaces leaking joints, corners and sections. Gutter replacement fits new gutters along the roof edge when rust, sagging or wear has gone too far to fix. Downpipe and fascia repairs often come with it, because water damage usually spreads along the roof edge.

Gutter repairs

Most gutter leaks start at a joint, an outlet or a corner. We find where the water escapes, then clean and seal or replace that section. If a few sections have failed but the rest is sound, repair makes sense.

Gutter replacement

Replace the gutters when rust runs along most of the length, when the gutter has sagged and holds water, or when repairs would cost more than new. New gutters come in a range of profiles and colours, and we match them to the fascia and the roof.

Downpipe repairs and replacement

Downpipes crack, split and come away from their brackets. They also block at the joins with silt. We re-fix loose pipes, replace damaged lengths and check the stormwater connection, so water leaves the roof and goes where it should.

Fascia repairs and replacement

Fascia carries the gutter. Wet gutters rot timber fascia from the back, and soft boards no longer hold the brackets. We replace damaged boards, or cut out and repair small sections, then refit the gutter so it falls correctly toward the downpipe.

A good gutter job also checks where the water goes in a heavy storm. Where the design allows, we leave an overflow path so water exits at the front instead of behind the fascia.

Signs your gutters need work

  • Water stains or drips under the eaves.
  • Orange rust or flaking paint on the gutter.
  • Gutter sagging or pulling away from the fascia.
  • Water overflowing in the rain even after cleaning.
  • Plants or moss growing in the gutter.

Not sure whether you need a repair? A gutter clean often shows it. Persistent leaks can also come from the roof itself. See leak detection.

Questions about gutters, downpipes and fascia

Can you replace just part of a gutter?

Yes, if the profile is available and the rest is in good condition. We tell you at the quote whether partial replacement makes sense.

Can you match my gutter colour?

We can match common colours. Tell us the colour or send a photo.

Do you replace rotten fascia?

Yes. We repair or replace damaged fascia and refit the gutter so it drains properly.

Why does my gutter overflow after it has been cleaned?

The fall may be wrong, the downpipe may be undersized or blocked, or the gutter may be sagging. We check each of these.
